"we're all running away from something." -- JG, new best friend.
Isn't that funny? I guess in September, when I decided I needed to spend a semester in Africa, I was running away from the boredom of DC. But god, I miss it. I'd kill for some cold air and a night at DC9. JG had some issues at home, but I know I had it really good when I left.
JG is a good good friend of mine. Some cool fucking people study abroad in Africa, but I'm on this new friendship tip where I'm reticent to call someone my friend, because if you are I'll pretty much do anything for you. Last night I paid 1000 Francs to bail him out of a stupid situation.. you can read about that on blogspot
I miss my mom. Gramma left, dad's working elsewhere, we're not subletting to interns anymore, my brother moved out. at least 100 different people have lived in that house the last year.
But the night it snowed, "Joey slept over at his friend's house and I was all alone."

haagen bath: Chocolate mint explosion If you look forward to mint chocolate at this time of year, why not indulge and bathe in it too? Add a Haagen Bath to your hot bath and relax into refreshing mint and grated chocolate. As it slowly fizzes, your skin will drink up all of its moisturizing deliciousness. Enjoy!
inredients: Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Cocoa Butter (Theobroma cacao), Soya Milk Powder (Glycine soja), Laureth 4, Almond Oil (Prunus dulcis), Perfume, Spearmint Oil (Mentha viridis), Cocoa Powder (Theobroma cacao), *Limonene, Titanium Dioxide, D&C Red No. 33.
fuckin' awesome. it fell in the sink and exploded into pink foam. i never loved soap as gifts until now.

best christmas period.
my mom's whole family is here and she just purchased 10 of the same pair of pajamas to have the most intense slumber party ever.
gifts have been good, more tomorrow, but these gift cards don't change the fact that i'm completely and utterly broke, going to london in two days and still don't have a camera. did i mention the bank rejected my loan check and now its floating through the mail?
i'm spending all day tomorrow doing laundry, packing and cleaning out my car. i hope i can see atonement with christie, too.
wednesday: greatest day of my life. paycheck. pottery painting with alex. pretty dresses with christie and liz.

is it just me or does this visa application look like someone just threw it together on microsoft word? is this a reflection of how the rest of the continent looks?
"uhh.. is it just me or does this hospital look like someone just threw it together under some particle board and corrugated sheets of tin?"

Okay I haven't lost everything yet. I can still salvage my winter break with some helpful words from sex and the city aka the bible in dvd form. "That's the key to having it all: stop expecting it to look like what you thought it was going to look like. It's true of the fall lines..."

i hate school. i hate work. that's not true, i don't hate either, but the combination makes me wanna kill someone.
the examiner called and would like me to pretend to be a child ("umm you're short enough but you're going to have to cover your face"), go to georgetown, knock on congressmen's doors and ask for candy and tell them what they give me.
but i wanna go shopping at american apparel and give out candy with my newest gay best friend! I'm probably going to be an aerobics instructor or some other stupid easy thing i can do with all the spandex i own.
homework due: t-minus hour and fifteen minutes

Dakar is in a tropical climate situation, but the characteristic heat and humidity are moderated in the city by cool breezes. The rainy season, between May and November, brings heavy downpours along with strong southeasterly winds. The dry season, from December to April, is exacerbated by the hot, dry harmattan winds.
